These Terms govern access to and use of the Funding Staff website and application. Please read them before creating an account or using the service.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and FUNDING STAFF LLC, a Michigan limited liability company operating as Funding Staff. By creating an account, checking the agreement box when presented, accepting an invitation, or otherwise using the authenticated application, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the authenticated service.

If you use Funding Staff for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement.

2. What Funding Staff provides

Funding Staff is a research, matching, and workflow service for nonprofit funding opportunities. It helps organizations create a profile, review potentially relevant opportunities, track interest and pursuit decisions, and organize related work.

Funding Staff is not a funder, grantmaker, grant writer, broker, law firm, accounting firm, or financial adviser. We do not accept grant applications, submit applications on your behalf, make funding decisions, or control a funder's eligibility rules, deadlines, or awards.

3. No funding or eligibility guarantee

Opportunity information and match results are decision-support tools. They are not promises that an opportunity is available, that your organization is eligible, that an application will be accepted, or that funding will be awarded. Funder information can change without notice.

You are responsible for reviewing the official funder source, confirming current requirements and deadlines, and deciding whether to apply. When Funding Staff information conflicts with an official funder source, the official source controls.

4. Accounts and account security

You must provide accurate account information, keep it current, and protect your login credentials and authentication methods. Do not share credentials or allow another person to use your account. Notify us promptly at security@fundingstaff.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it resulted from a security failure within Funding Staff's control. We may require identity or account verification when reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users.

5. Organizations, invitations, and team access

An organization owner may invite other people to the organization workspace. Owners control team membership and may remove access. Team members may see organization profile information, opportunity matches, workflow history, and other information available within that workspace.

Only invite people who are authorized to access the organization's information. If you leave an organization or your authority ends, you must stop using its workspace and ask the owner or Funding Staff to remove your access.

6. Information you provide

You keep ownership of information you submit. You give Funding Staff a limited, nonexclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit, and display that information only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service and to comply with law.

You confirm that you have the right to provide the information and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit passwords, Social Security numbers, payment card details, bank credentials, or confidential application documents unless Funding Staff clearly requests that specific information through a feature designed for it.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use Funding Staff to:

  • Break a law, violate another person's rights, or misrepresent your identity or authority.
  • Upload malware, probe for vulnerabilities, bypass access controls, or interfere with the service.
  • Access another organization's data without authorization.
  • Scrape, copy, resell, or redistribute the service or its opportunity library at scale without written permission.
  • Use automated activity that places an unreasonable load on the service.
  • Use the service to send spam, commit fraud, or submit false or misleading funding information.

8. AI-assisted and automated features

Funding Staff may use automated tools to help staff extract facts from public opportunity sources or organize information. Staff review is part of the current opportunity publishing workflow. Automated output can still be incomplete or wrong, so you must verify important facts with the official source.

Funding Staff does not make grant awards or automated funding decisions. Match scores and explanations help users prioritize research. They do not determine a person's legal rights, eligibility, credit, employment, insurance, or access to public benefits.

9. Third-party sources and services

The service may link to funders, government websites, and other third parties. Funding Staff does not control their content, availability, terms, privacy practices, or security. A link or reference does not mean Funding Staff endorses the third party or guarantees its information.

Funding Staff also relies on service providers for hosting, authentication, email, security, backups, monitoring, and related operations. Your use of third-party websites may be governed by their own terms and policies.

10. Monthly subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds

Billing is not open until a purchase option is made available. When offered, the Funding Staff monthly plan is $99 per organization per month, plus any applicable tax shown before payment. By completing an authorized purchase, you agree to monthly renewal and charges to your saved payment method until you cancel. Your purchase screen and account show the applicable amount and billing dates. Grant writing, application submission, a grant award, and a particular number of opportunities are not included or guaranteed. We never take a percentage of your awards.

Join early. Lock in $99 a month. The first 20 paying organizations qualify for founding-member price protection for this monthly plan. Keep your membership active, and that rate stays yours. Eligibility is confirmed after the first successful payment is verified; a free pilot does not use a place. There is no scheduled price increase, and reaching 20 founding members does not itself change anyone's price. Separate future products are not covered by this promise.

Cancel renewal online anytime through Account, Subscription and billing, Manage subscription and invoices. No explanation, questionnaire, or support conversation is required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period, not necessarily the last day of a calendar month. Your access continues through that paid period and your subscription will not renew after effective cancellation. Reversing a scheduled cancellation before that period ends preserves founding-member protection. If your subscription ends and you later return, the price offered at that time applies.

If a payment fails, we will send a payment notice so you can update your payment method and retry payment. One failed payment does not by itself remove founding-member price protection. Paid funding content is available only for a verified paid period; unresolved payment can interrupt that content while your account, profile, billing management, recovery, and support remain available. The subscription can end if payment remains unresolved after recovery attempts. A completed cancellation or ended subscription is different from a temporary payment problem.

Payments are generally nonrefundable. We do not normally refund unused days, not using the service, not applying for an opportunity, or not receiving a grant. We correct duplicate or other erroneous charges and refund a renewal charged after your cancellation took effect. We review serious service failures individually. These terms do not limit any refund or other right required by law. If cancellation fails or you believe a charge is wrong, contact support@fundingstaff.com with your account email, relevant date, and a short description. Never send card details or login credentials.

Named private testers have separate time-limited complimentary access. No card is required, they are not billed, and their pilot never automatically becomes a paid subscription. Each invitation states its end date and feedback rules. An unanswered check-in may lead to a pause after a 20-day response window and advance reminders on days 5, 10, and 15. A pause preserves the account and information; feedback and support remain available. We can restore access before the stated pilot end date. No response is not proof that someone did not use the service.

Any separately offered promotion must show its actual charge, duration, renewal amount, and cancellation terms before purchase. No promotion or free-to-paid conversion is active merely because it is described here. Optional exit feedback never affects cancellation. Funding Staff does not charge a payment method without an authorized purchase and agreement to the displayed payment terms.

11. Funding Staff property

Funding Staff and its licensors own the service, software, design, branding, original content, and related intellectual property, excluding information you submit and third-party source material. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. You may use the service only for your organization's internal activities unless Funding Staff gives written permission for another use.

If you provide feedback, you allow Funding Staff to use it without restriction or payment, provided we do not publicly identify you as the source without permission.

12. Availability, changes, and pilot status

The service may change as the pilot develops. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed. We may pause access for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or protection of users. We will use reasonable efforts to avoid unnecessary disruption, but continuous or error-free availability is not guaranteed.

13. Suspension, termination, and account closure

You may stop using Funding Staff at any time. To request account or organization closure, contact support@fundingstaff.com. An organization owner may remove a team member's access.

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a serious Terms violation, security risk, legal requirement, nonpayment after paid billing begins, or harm to the service or another user. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue. Data handling after closure is described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Funding Staff is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Funding Staff disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement. We do not warrant that every opportunity is complete, current, accurate, available, or suitable for your organization.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Funding Staff will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost funding, lost data, business interruption, or the cost of substitute services arising from use of the service.

Funding Staff's total liability for claims arising from the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Funding Staff during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or 100 US dollars. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, or to liability caused by fraud, willful misconduct, or another liability that cannot legally be limited.

16. Responsibility for misuse

To the extent allowed by law, you will be responsible for third-party claims, losses, or expenses caused by information you submitted, your unlawful use of the service, or your material violation of these Terms. This does not require you to cover claims caused by Funding Staff's own negligence, willful misconduct, or legal violation.

17. Governing law and disputes

Michigan law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a lawsuit, you and Funding Staff agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute by written notice and 30 days of discussion. If the dispute is not resolved, it may be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Michigan. Nothing in this section prevents either side from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a small claims court with jurisdiction.

18. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without Funding Staff's written permission. Funding Staff may transfer them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about use of the service unless supplemental written terms apply. Section headings are for convenience only.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service, law, or business changes. The date at the top shows when they were last updated. If a change materially affects current users, we will provide notice through the service, by email, or by another reasonable method before the change takes effect when required by law. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

20. Contact

Questions about these Terms may be sent to support@fundingstaff.com or through the Funding Staff contact form.
